Patti Thorpe wins Canadian Music Educator (CMEA) Award

First Canadian to win the Canadian Music Educator (CMEA) Award is Patti Thorpe of Langley, BC.  Sweet Adelines International will be awarding our very own Patti Thorpe with the first ever Canadian Music Educator (CMEA) Award. She will be recognized In Las Vegas on the International Stage at the MGM Grand on October 20, 2016 after the chorus competition in Vegas.  Patti is the music director at Langley Secondary School, a section leader with Westcoast Harmony Chorus and is instrumental in starting the Young Women in Harmony workshop in the Lower Mainland over 10 years ago .  Congratulations, Patti!

Westcoast receives Surrey Arts Council award!

Westcoast is proud to announce that we have received the Business and Arts Award from the Arts Council of Surrey in recognition of our significant contribution of time and service in support of the arts in Surrey. The Arts Council monthly magazine, Spotlight on the Arts, highlighted the scholarships we offer singers in our community who might not otherwise be able to participate in a barbershop chorus.
